Our Work – Madden Charities & The John Madden Foundation

Madden Charities & The John Madden Foundation continue to make a lasting impact on communities around us. John and Virginia Madden, both former teachers who understood firsthand the power of education, founded the organization to support youth through scholarships and athletic programs, with an emphasis on football. We also fund health initiatives and medical research. Learn more about the difference we make and the organizations we proudly support below.

College of San Mateo

We proudly support the College of San Mateo’s football program which has a long, proud history of strong football and a positive team culture.

College Track

In 2023, we embarked on a 5-year, $800,000 partnership with College Track Oakland.

Black College Football Hall of Fame

We proudly sponsored charter buses to transport 800 students from 16 Historically Black Colleges and Universities to the Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl Career Fair in New Orleans.

Madden Scholars Program at Cal Poly

In 2021, Madden Charities initiated a $1,000,000 partnership with Cal Poly, providing five-year scholarships to five underprivileged Bay Area high school graduates annually.

John Madden Football Center

The John Madden Football Center is set to open this coming June 2026.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help

Madden Charities is proud to support Our Lady of Perpetual Help where John Madden attended Elementary school.

Fighter’s Heaven

Madden Charities charters buses to bring local Pennsylvania students to Muhammad Ali’s historic boxing training camp.

Battle of the Bay Charity Bocce Tournament

The annual Battle of the Bay Charity Bocce Tournament, hosted Steve Mariucci, brings the community together for a great cause.

Valley Humane Society

We proudly support the Valley Humane Society. They are a community-funded nonprofit animal shelter and veterinary surgery center based in Pleasanton, California.
