The John Madden Foundation is in its developmental phases.  Presently, there are six “Madden Family Scholars” attending John and Virginia’s alma mater, Cal Poly.  Soon, five more Madden Scholars will be identified from Cal Poly’s next wave of incoming freshmen. 

John and Virginia were both teachers and recognize the value of formal education.  It is Virginia’s vision to not only assist deserving young people pay for their education, but also help people who might not know where to start to get started!  Virginia says, “Most likely the kids who are applying for scholarships and things, will find what they need somehow, someway.  How do we get to the kids who can make a difference in the world, but they don’t know where or how to get started?  We want to help those kids too!”
